The first step in trying to register a charity is to apply for a PIN number. This PIN number allows you to create an account and subsequently fill out (and submit) an application form.

The Charities Regulator intends to launch a new online application system called MyAccount by the end of July this year. If you have not applied for a PIN number before the 18th July you will have to wait to apply through the new system. We suggest you come back to our new website in the first week of August to Sign Up to apply.

However, if you already have a PIN number, which you have not used, or you have started but not completed an application, you must complete and submit the application before the 25th July, otherwise you will need to reapply through the new system once launched.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Other Information:

Next to some of the information you submit there will be an "eye" symbol.  This indicates that this information will automatically appear on the the public Register of Charities when it next updates, which is carried out every 24 hours.

If there is a compelling reason why your charity believes any item of information you enter in any of these fields should not appear on the Public Register, please do not enter it via the online system.  Instead go to the 'Documents' tab and use the "Add Attachment" facility to upload a PDF document containing the information and the reason why your charity wants it to remain unpublished.

We will then consider your request and contact you.
