How do we register?

Charitable organisations that held a CHY number (charitable tax exemption) from the Revenue Commissioners before the 16 October 2014 were deemed registered by the Regulator on the date of our establishment. These organisations appear on the Register of Charities and have been assigned an RCN (Registered Charity Number) by the Regulator. These organisations were required to update their details on the Register by 16 April 2016 and to complete an Annual Report.

Letters containing PIN codes were posted to all these organisations in 2014 and reissued in 2015. You need to use your PIN code to set up an account on the Charities Regulator website. If your charity's correspondence address has changed and you have not notified the Revenue Commissioners you must let us know immediately as your PIN code letter may have been sent to the wrong address.

If your organisation held a CHY number (charitable tax exemption) from the Revenue Commissioners before the 16 October 2014 and you have not yet updated your details on the Register or completed an Annual Report you should do so immediately.

Please note that you must upload your governing document as previously approved by the Revenue Commissioners in connection with their charitable tax exemption.  Governing documents updated or amended since gaining tax exemption status and not approved by the Revenue Commissioners are not acceptable.
